Dykes on Bikes Rev Up for LGBTIQ Women
For many people in the LGBTIQ community, Dykes on Bikes are known as the loud and proud openers of Pride marches around the world. However, Dykes on Bikes’ contribution to our communities go much deeper.

ReThink the Drink is a project that seeks to inspire alcohol culture change among LGBTIQ women in Victorian regional and rural areas. It’s part of VicHealth’s Alcohol Culture Change Initiative (ACCI) which is funding nine different projects aimed at reaching groups who engage in risky drinking behaviours.

PARTi in Amsterdam
In early May, Kate Pern and Gaia Miller-Foote from Thorne Harbour Health and Star Health’s joint harm reduction initiative, the PARTi Project, had the exciting opportunity to travel to Amsterdam to present at the 11th International Club Health Conference on nightlife, substance use and related health issues.

12 July 1983 - With the successful decriminalisation of homosexuality a couple years earlier, we were only just starting to see the fruits of gay and lesbian liberation when the storm clouds of an emerging health crisis started to gather.
