Be a Part of Our Community Advisory Committees

21 Jul 2023
Application Deadline Extended.
Thorne Harbour Health is seeking participants for a number of our Community Advisory Committees.
Complete an Expression of Interest
Our Community Advisory Committees play an important role in our ongoing development and will inform our next strategic plan. These committees will ensure that Thorne Harbour's services are tailored to meet the unique needs of our diverse communities. The committees also offer an opportunity for individuals to contribute their unique personal experiences and directly influence the future of Thorne Harbour Health.
We are seeking expressions of interest from people who are LGBTIQ+ and:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
- Trans and gender diverse
- Living with disability
- Living with HIV
- Have lived experience of adverse mental health
- Multicultural
Each of these groups will form a separate committee. Committee participants will be remunerated. While you can apply for more than one committee, you can only be chosen for one.
In the past, these committees have made significant contributions to various initiatives, such as the Women's Health Strategy, Reconciliation Action Plan, and the establishment of the Equinox trans and gender diverse health centre. Thorne Harbour Health is also introducing the new Multicultural Advisory Committee to inform us of the unique challenges faced by LGBTIQ+ individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
To express your interest, simply complete the survey. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes, and all questions are optional. You are free to discontinue at any time.
The application deadline has been extended to Sunday August 20th. If you have any questions, please email us here.
Statement of Intersectionality:
Thorne Harbour Health is committed to ensuring that these committees reflect our diverse demographic backgrounds and specific service experiences. We acknowledge that not all intersectionality can be represented in the final composition of groups.
