Thorne Harbour Country provides support, counselling, rapid HIV testing, resources and information around LGBTI wellbeing, HIV, Hepatitis C and sexual health across the Loddon Mallee. Operating out of the Community Hub, Thorne Harbour Country provides a safe place for the LGBTI community to connect and access information resources and referral services.
The Peer Education Program offers workshops for gay and same-sex attracted men that provide a confidential and welcoming environment for participants to socialise while learning more about their sexuality and wellbeing. These workshops are facilitated by volunteer peer facilitators to enhance peer-to-peer learning.Topics covered include: negative stereotypes, homophobia, coming out, relationships, community, HIV stigma and sexual health.The workshops are:FreeInteractive and dynamicA safe space for discussion and sharing storiesRun once a week for seven weeks, usually on a weeknight from 7 – 10 PM or weekends from 10 AM - 1 PMHave 8 – 12 participants and 2 – 3 volunteer peer facilitatorsVolunteersOur workshops are run by a team of dedicated and fun volunteers.
