Time: 11.00a.m. – 4.00p.m.

Address: Charing Cross Forecourt, Corner of View Street and Pall Mall, Bendigo

Trans Day of Remembrance is held annually on 20 November and is an important day to stand in solidarity and honour the lives lost o transphobic violence as well as acknowledge the ongoing need to support our TGD communities.

In Bendigo, the trans social support group, Trans and Gender Diverse Bendigo and Beyond are working with the City of Greater Bendigo, Thorne Harbour Country, headspace Bendigo and Bendigo Pride Festival to deliver an art installation at Charing Cross forecourt, near the fountain and Bendigo sign

The goal of the installation is to raise awareness, stop stigma and save lives.

From 11AM a standing vigil will take place to honour and remember those lives taken this year,

as reported by the Trans Respect project:https://transrespect.org/en/tmm-update-tdor-2022/. Each person taken by transphobic violence will be represented by a pair of empty shoes. Local trans voices will share their experiences and call for an end to stigma and violence throughout the installation.

You're invited to stand with in solidarity and respect for all the trans and gender diverse lives lost, reported and unreported, or at risk of harm through direct violence or suicide.
