Conscious Combat Club

Conscious Combat Club empowers women to reclaim their body, confidence and strength through trauma informed martial arts.

Join LGBTIQ+ instructor Penny McKay for a free 90-minute workshop on trauma-informed kickboxing. This workshop welcomes all LGBTIQ+ women (non-binary inclusive).

The workshop includes:

• 30-minute presentation on the principles of trauma informed care and how they can be applied to kickboxing.
• 60 minutes of kickboxing: Experiment with kickboxing movements as a vehicle to connect to your body, set boundaries and regulate your nervous system.
• 30 minutes to connect: Refuel with some snacks and wind down with other participants.

Venue:

Group Fitness Room, Brunswick Baths.

Access:

This event suitable for people of all abilities. However, as it is an exercise workshop, it may not be suitable for people with certain health conditions (e.g. heart conditions). Please let us know if you have any access needs or relevant health conditions in the application form.

What to bring:

• Water bottle.
• Exercise clothes you feel comfortable in that allow for full range of movement.
