Equinox Waitlist Opens for 50 People
13 Feb 2026
Thorne Harbour Health’s Equinox Clinic reopened its patient waitlist on 23rd Febuary at 2 PM, with 50 new places available for trans and gender diverse (TGD) people seeking gender-affirming primary care.
Join Waitlist
Equinox is a general practice clinic specifically designed for TGD communities. The service prioritises people who are currently unable to access safe, knowledgeable and affirming GP care elsewhere.
Demand for gender-affirming primary care remains extremely high, and there is a well-recognised shortage of clinicians providing this care. We’ve only been able to reopen the waitlist after increasing our clinical capacity, and we’re continuing to work to expand access wherever we can.
Ellis Nardella, Practice Manager
Because places are very limited, Thorne Harbour Health asks community members to consider their circumstances before registering. People who already have a supportive and experienced GP may not need to join the Equinox waitlist at this time. The available places are intended primarily for TGD people who cannot currently access appropriate primary care.
Building care beyond Equinox
Alongside direct clinical services, Thorne Harbour Health is also working to improve access across the broader health system through its Trans and Gender Diverse in Community Health (TGDiCH) training program. The program supports mainstream clinics and practitioners to provide competent, affirming care to TGD patients.
Our goal is not for Equinox to be the only safe option — but to help ensure gender-affirming care is available across the health system.
