Call for Board Nominations

The Victorian AIDS Council Inc (VAC) and Gay Men’s Health Centre Inc (GMHC), trading as Thorne Harbour Health are seeking visionary and capable people who work well with others to nominate for election to two vacancies on our Board of Directors.
This is an opportunity to play an important leadership role in Thorne Harbour Health and participate in the organisation at an exciting time. The Board particularly encourages people living with HIV, women, sexuality and gender diverse people to apply to ensure the Board reflects the community it serves.
Nomination process
In accordance with clause 10.3 of the VAC/GMHC Ltd Constitution, the election of Directors will be held prior to the Annual General Meeting on Sunday 16 November 2025 and announced on the day.
Nominations of candidates for election must be in writing, signed by two members of VAC/GMHC Ltd and accompanied by the written consent of the candidate. A nomination form is available for this purpose. For further information about the eligibility to be a Director of VAC/GMHC Ltd, see clause 10.2 of the VAC/GMHC Constitution.
Nominations must strictly comply with any relevant by-laws and policies established by the Board of VAC/GMHC Ltd, including as to the completion of all necessary forms and documentation which are required to accompany the Nomination Form. The Returning Officer and the Secretary of the Board are authorised to collect and consider such material from candidates. Details are outlined in the guide that accompanies the Nomination Form. Nominations will be deemed invalid and will not be accepted if they are incomplete and/or are received after the closing time for nominations of Tuesday 7 October 2025 at 2.00pm. The Returning Officer has no discretion to accept any nominations (including incomplete Nomination Forms) received after 2.00pm.
If the number of nominations exceeds the number of vacancies to be filled, a postal ballot shall be held.

Partnering with Thorne Harbour Health’s Drag Race Trivia offers direct access to a highly engaged LGBTIQ+ audience across in-person and digital channels.This event attracts over 350 attendees and raises critical funds for our LGBTIQ+ and HIV services through sponsorships, ticket sales, a pop-up bar and silent auction.Running since 2014, Drag Race Trivia is a winter staple. The night features trivia, mini-challenges, lip sync battles and live drag performances—creating multiple touchpoints for brand integration.
