We are seeking visionary and capable people who work well with others to nominate for election to three (3) vacancies on the Board of Directors.

The Board particularly encourages people living with HIV, women, sexuality and gender diverse people to apply to ensure the Board reflects the community it serves.

VAC/GMHC Ltd is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee with the principal charitable purposes of:
- prevention and control of HIV;
- collaboration with organisations and the public to support, develop and deliver innovative programs and initiatives to promote community awareness of HIV/AIDS;
- health promotion for people living or affected by, HIV/AIDS;
- health promotion for LGBTIQ+ persons;
- promotion and defence of rights and liberties of the LGBTIQ+ community and persons living with or affected by HIV.
VAC/GMHC Ltd is related to, and holds assets for, Thorne Harbour Health Ltd (ACN 606 806 204). VAC/GMHC Ltd trades under the name Thorne Harbour Health. Our organisation was first established in 1983, and continues to evolve in response to the epidemic with robust business systems and an ever-changing strategic response and continuing dedication to our vision and service philosophy. This includes serving the health needs of our LGBTIQ+ communities to ensure all gender, sex and sexually diverse individuals are treated with dignity and can participate fully in society.
Nomination process
In accordance with clause 10.3 of the VAC/GMHC Ltd Constitution, the election of Directors will be held prior to the Annual General Meeting on Sunday, 4 December 2022 and announced on the day.
Nominations of candidates for election must be in writing, signed by two members of VAC/GMHC Ltd and accompanied by the written consent of the candidate. A nomination form is available for this purpose. For further information about the eligibility to be a Director of VAC/GMHC Ltd, see clause 10.2 of the VAC/GMHC Constitution.
Nominations must strictly comply with any relevant policies established by the Board of VAC/GMHC Ltd, including as to the completion of all necessary forms and documentation which are required to accompany the Nomination Form. The Secretary of the Board is authorised to collect such material from candidates. Details are outlined in the guide that accompanies the Nomination Form. Nominations will be deemed invalid if they are incomplete and/or are received after the closing time for nominations of Wednesday, 2 November 2022 at 5PM. The Returning Officer has no discretion to accept any nominations (including incomplete Nomination Forms) received after 5PM.
If the number of nominations exceeds the number of vacancies to be filled, a postal ballot shall be held.
