A fortnightly, low-pressure, creative drop-in space for LGBTIQA+ people aged 16+ to connect, unwind, and explore gender-affirming activities.

What to expect

  • Snacks and a relaxed, social environment
  • Gender-affirming, peer-led space
  • Optional participation—drop in, stay as long as you like

Who it’s for

LGBTIQA+ people aged 16 and over, including those interested in mental health and/or alcohol and other drug (AOD) support. Allies welcome.

About the program

Delivered by Thorne Harbour Health’s AOD Peer Support program, this drop-in creates an accessible entry point for community connection and support. Creative activities are used to reduce barriers, support wellbeing, and build links into broader services where needed.

Week 1 :

Real Talk: The Stuff We Don’t Say Out Loud

Open, facilitated discussion using anonymous questions. Covers topics like sex, loneliness, substance use, and shame in a safe, low-pressure environment.

Week 2:

Modern Connection

Covers dating apps, ghosting, and intimacy. Helps participants reflect on connection vs validation and dating patterns.

Week 3:

Hangxiety & Comedowns

Explores post-use anxiety, low mood, and emotional crashes. Introduces harm reduction and recovery strategies.

Week 4:

Confidence Without the Mask

Explores confidence, identity, and social performance. Helps participants identify where they feel authentic vs “on.”
