Same-Sex Attracted Men in Heterosexual Relationships
Stigma is a tricky beast and an all too familiar one for men experiencing anxiety and/or depression. It gets even more complicated when you add the stigma associated with being same-sex attracted while in a heterosexual lifestyle. DALE aims to reduce this complex stigma and improve the overall health and wellbeing of these men.
DALE is tailored toward same-sex attracted men living in a heterosexual relationship or lifestyle (commonly known as ‘gay and married men’) who are experiencing anxiety and/or depression.
DALE features a mix of bite-sized Articles with information and personal stories, Forums for ongoing online discussions, and peer-moderated Live Chat sessions focused on specific topics to connect with other likeminded guys. DALE offers a safe, online space to interact with likeminded peers and to work through a range of issues affecting men from these communities.
Head to Dale
As part of beyondblue’s Stigma Reduction Interventions: Digital Environments (STRIDE) project, made possible by funding from the Movember Foundation, DALE was developed to find out if the stigma experienced by particular groups of men aged 30-64 experiencing anxiety and/or depression could be reduced through online interventions.
